Charles Luther Heaton

December 19, 1977 — March 9, 2014

Charles Luther Heaton, Aka: Ole Luke/ Duke December 19, 1977 - March 9, 2014 Charles Luther Heaton passed away on March 9, 2014 at his home. Luke as many knew him, or "Ole Luke"or Luke Duke as he referred to himself, leaves behind his beautiful daughter Harlee Beth Heaton and son Michael Chance Heaton, Mother Laura K. Carter , Father Danny L. Heaton, Stepfather Sam Carter, and his Brothers Adam and Daniel Heaton. Luke"s entire family would rival the sports section so I"ll leave it at that. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Friday in the Glory Bound Church in Marlow. Luke"s life journey was not an easy road. He wrote twice "Trials and Tribulations" in his journals. "What are trials and tribulations? They are obstacles of all sorts that God puts us through. Some people get light ones and some people like Me get the ones that will either make you or brake you. These are tasks made by God to test your Faith". Luke fought many things in life, but somehow found the strength to continue through the love of his children. This common theme about his children was cited, highlighted and written over and over in every journal I read. Luke"s love for the outdoors was always depicted in stories, pictures and most notably in his famous fish fries. Luke didn"t care who you were or where you were from; if he saw you on a day he was planning a fish fry you were invited. From his writings, Luke"s greatest desire on this earth was that we would be a "Close knit family". Lord how this tears me apart as I read the pages. Luke wasn"t able to achieve with his body what his heart most passionately desired. Close knit is repeated and repeated as if he"s trying to tell us something. Trying to bring each and every one of us closer through his absence. Luke"s cry for Love, forgiveness, and freedom from his chains resonates in his journal. I"ll finish with one of Luke"s entries: SATAN Let me tell you about Satan. He has caused me pain, heartache, many trials and Tribulations for many, many years. I used to be one of the most energetic, caring, and compassionate people, always had a smile, and could make everyone around me laugh. Then all of a sudden, Satan began to throw obstacles my way. The obstacles began to get tougher, some of the times I wasn"t sure I was going to overcome them. So I turned to God for help, my mother also has me on the prayer list still today. So let me tell you this. With God on your side Satan doesn"t have a chance. With God All Things Are Possible. Amen Lord, take Luke Heaton into your Kingdom, free him from his pain and suffering. Release the spirit he wrote about and bring peace to his family. This pain we feel will pass, our love for one another will be made stronger, but the void left in our hearts will forever remain. I love you Luke, I miss you Luke
