Donald Wayne Snyder, "The Man, The Myth, the Legend" 68 of Duncan passed from this life Monday, July 26, 2021, at his home in Duncan Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Ray of Hope with Reverend Matt Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Don was born February 20, 1953, in Connersville, Indiana the son of Paul Joseph Snyder and Doris Faye (Smiddy) Snyder. He was a graduate of Connersville High School, class of 1972. He worked for Cable One as a Systems Technician for 30 years. His favorite thing to do was tinker in his shop and restore classic cars, among other things. He enjoyed helping anyone who had something to fix. It seemed like there was nothing he couldn't do. He played pool, threw darts, and was good at sports. He enjoyed spending weekends on the lake Crappie fishing with his wife Linda. He also enjoyed boating, skiing, and launching kids off the tube. In his down time, (like he had any) he and Linda would work in the garden. He also enjoyed watching OU football and softball. He was always telling jokes and playing pranks, and loving on his two Dachshunds, Tater and Tela. Survivors include his wife Linda Dickey, of the home in Duncan. Father Paul Snyder, of Connersville, Indiana. Daughters Angi Snyder and husband Ryan Cooper of Milton, Indiana and Megan and Rand Seegers of Springdale, Arkansas. Sons Scott Snyder of Duncan, Oklahoma, Dwayne Snyder and wife Lauren of Duncan, Oklahoma, Darron Snyder of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Tom Dickey and wife Julie of Hastings, Oklahoma. He also helped raise his granddaughter Tiffany, married to Dillon Johnson of Duncan, Oklahoma. Sister Brenda Snyder, of Grapevine, Texas. Brother Mark Snyder, and wife Tammy of Duncan, Oklahoma. Grandchildren Kristin and Austin Shank, Shyann and Maverick Snyder, Kyson Snyder, Rhett, Nash, and Millie Seegers, Bryan, James, and Michael Dickey, Cynthia Gensler and Chance Clinkenbeard. Great grandchildren Kaiden and Calvin Carver, Bentley Wagner and Kimber Johnson. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Doris, brother Larry Snyder, sister Bobbi Mullen, daughter Kimberly Dickey and grandsons Wade Shank and Bryton Snyder. Public viewing to be held on Thursday, July 29 at Bailes-Polk Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Centric Home Health Care and Hospice at 6215 W.
