Margaret Elizabeth Simpson, 69, of Duncan passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Celebration of life will be held Tuesday July 20th, 1pm at Ray of Hope Church. Margaret was born January 8, 1952 in Ulysses , Kansas the daughter of Merl and Beth Rider. She graduated from Lakin High School in 1970 in Lakin, Kansas and received her RN from the Hutchison Hospital School of Nursing in 1973 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Margaret began her Nursing career in Ulysses Kansas in which she was proud to say was the hospital she was born. The Majority of her Nursing career was spent at Duncan Regional Hospital in the Emergency Department and most recently for Dr. Frances McGouran. She enjoyed being outside, watching her Son play golf, shopping with her Daughter, mentoring others within the Nursing field and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Margaret's Children and Grandchildren were her entire world and that is where she shined most as being a "GiGi". Our Mother, GiGi and best friend will be missed dearly and loved in our hearts until we see her again. She attended the Ray of Hope Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Merl and Beth Rider of Lakin Kansas and nephew Bryan Bell of Lakin Kansas. Survivors include her sons Courtney Simpson of Duncan, Aaron Simpson and his wife Rachel of Comanche; daughter Mary Beth Simpson-Lowry of Duncan; brother Nelson Rider and wife Joyce of Lakin Kansas; sister Kristina Bell and husband Jim of Lakin, Kansas and grandchildren Jaxon Simpson, Ava Simpson and Madisyn Lowry along with countless other kids in the Duncan community who have come to know Margaret as their own mother.
