Linda McAlister

July 27, 1945 — September 23, 2025

Linda Eddene Elam McAlister, 80, of Duncan won her battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 as she went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 2, 2025 in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Saturday from 4-6 PM

Eddene was born July 27, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma the daughter of Thomas Edwin and Gladys Marie (Green) Elam. Eddene's family moved to Noble, Oklahoma after her father was honorably discharged from the Army following WWII. She attended school at Noble and graduated in 1963. After graduating from Noble High School she worked briefly for the University of Oklahoma before moving with her family to Walters, Oklahoma. During her time living in Walters she worked for the County Extension Office. She eventually went to work for Halliburton, where she worked in Accounts Receivable where she retired after 20 years. She and Chester McAlister were married in Lawton, Oklahoma on February 14, 1996 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2020. They made their home for a short time in Nixa, Missouri before moving back to Duncan to be near family. She loved to cook especially baked goods. Cakes, pies and bread were her specialty. She also loved to sew. She made clothes and quilts. She was an avid OU fan. She was a member of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Lawton.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son Terry Clement and wife Alexis of Mustang, Oklahoma; daughter Tammy Clement Ross of Duncan, Oklahoma; her brother David Elam and his wife Jennifer and children Darrien, Jackson and Devin. She was Mimi to her grandchildren Olivia Clement and Thomas Clement; a special Aunt Wynona Eaton and husband Bill of Noble, Oklahoma; and lifelong friends Cecilia Samuels and Amy Lee as well as a host of cousins and friends.

During her stay in the hospital her adopted daughter, Lorie. came to help take care of her. Giving the family time to take a break. Thank you for your love and compassion.

We also want to thank Harold and Julie Waller for taking care her fur babies while she was in the hospital. You have been a blessing.

A very special thank you to the ICU nurses at Duncan Regional Hospital, Dr. Koch, Dr. May and Dr. Hemphill for taking care of our mom.
