Matthew Foster

Mathew Neal Foster, age 68, of Alma, OK passed from this life on August 1, 2026, in Duncan, OK. Matt was born on August 29, 1957, to J.W. Foster and Dorothy Jewell (Whatley) Foster in Duncan, OK. Raised in Alma, OK, he graduated from Velma-Alma High School in 1976. He worked in the oil field for more than 40 years and later worked as a groundskeeper at the Duncan golf course for a few years before retiring. Matt married Charlene Culberson in 1998 and lived in Duncan. Following her death, he moved back to Alma. He enjoyed working puzzle books and riding around in his Gator.

Preceding Matt in death were his parents, his wife, Charlene, stepson Kevin Culberson, brothers Garry Foster and Glen Foster, sisters Gwen Fowler and Carolyn Bench, nephew Daniel Fowler, and great-nephew Montana Keenan. He is survived by his brother, Alex "Red" Foster and wife Venetta of Ardmore, sister Louann Thompson and husband Terry of Alma, brother Danny Foster and wife Claudette of Velma, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be missed here on earth but welcomed cheerfully into heaven. We love you Matt.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Alma Cemetery. Viewing will be available Monday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailes-Polk Funeral Home in Duncan, OK.
