Teresa Annette Benson

Teresa Annette Benson, 66, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed from this life Monday, September 7, 2026 in the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday in the Tatum Cemetery at Tatum, Oklahoma with Arlouis McDowell. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for visitation and viewing from 6-7:30 on Thursday at the funeral home.

Teresa was born August 4, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the daughter of Oscar and Bessie Faye (Breath) Swindell. She graduated from the Fox High School. She and Iry Benson Jr. were married in Duncan, Oklahoma June 30, 1978. She worked at the Duncan High School as an office clerk and worked the ticket booth at athletic events for many years. She enjoyed basketball and softball, especially watching her granddaughter play softball. She was famous for her chicken spaghetti. Her family was a very important part of her life. She was a member of the Magnolia Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father Oscar Swindell, brother Calvin Springer, grandparents Maggie and Clemon Breath and Joe and Rosie Swindall.

Survivors include her husband Iry Benson Jr. of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma; sons Jason Benson and wife Candace of Comanche, Oklahoma and Ewanee Benson of Duncan, Oklahoma; granddaughters Kataleya Benson of Norman, Oklahoma and Alaina Skiles of Comanche, Oklahoma; sister Twyla Lee of Harrah, Oklahoma; her mother Bessie Swindell of Tatum, Oklahoma as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
